Millinocket Marathon & Half
RACE OVERVIEW

Maine’s famous grassroots race

SAVE THE DATE: Next year’s race is scheduled for Saturday, December 7th, 2024.

REG UPDATES: You may sign up to be alerted when registration opens by clicking HERE.

Don't Run Millinocket for what you get; Run Millinocket for what you give!

First held in 2015 as a self-timed, glorified flash mob, the Millinocket Marathon & Half was started to help Maine’s most prominent mill town, which was devastated by the closing of their major employer, Great Northern Paper Company. Runner's World Magazine picked up the story shortly after, and the rest is history!

Help keep Millinocket running for years to come! Although there is no formal entry fee to run the Millinocket Marathon & Half, all participants are encouraged to make a donation to support the bare minimum race expenses. These expenses include race timing, course certification, port-a-johns, bus transportation and insurance.

Anything raised above and beyond our essential race expenses will be donated to charitable Millinocket-area groups and organizations.

If you are not running or you didn’t chip in at time of registration but would love to support the race please click HERE to make a donation to help cover our race expenses.

Thank you VERY much!

ENTRY FEE
:
The Millinocket Marathon & Half is a FREE event. No one is required to pay an entry fee to participate in our event. Instead, we ask that runners spend money in the town our race was created to help. With that said, we do have some essential race services we need to fund. These costs include: insurance, bib numbers, race timing, bus transportation, port-a-johns, as well as a few other professional services. Optional donations may be made at the time of registration, or from the donation page to help us ensure these bills get paid. Anything raised above and beyond our essential race expenses will be donated to Millinocket area charitable groups or organizations.

If you are not running, or you didn’t chip in at time of registration, but you’d love to support the race, please click HERE to make a donation to help cover race expenses. Thank you!

In the unlikely event that not enough donations are collected in advance of the race, a mandatory donation may be required for late entries.

Please keep in mind that registration is limited and may close without notice. All participants must be signed up in advance. There is NO registration available at bib pick-up. You can learn more about registration by clicking HERE.

Sea To Summit Maine Race Series

Important: You must register for Sea to Summit through your MDI registration!

Millinocket could not RUN without the support of Run MDI!

The Maine Sea to Summit Race Series is a celebration of the kinship felt between these two magnificent events! Both MDI and Millinocket feature USATF certified marathon and half-marathon courses that may be used to qualify for entry into the Boston Marathon and NYC Marathon.

All Sea to Summit entrants will earn an extra special commemorative medal to be picked up in Millinocket.
